Hardware & stuff

Posted by Oakwood - February 15th, 2015

Heejaa!

Not much to say actually, but I felt like saying something. First of all, I haven't had much time to review anything this week but I managed to still give some critics here and there, and I've added one song to the Hidden Audio Gems playlist!

  • Float On by @thetastate. It's superrelaxing and has a great atmosphere to it, be sure to check it out! This guy is also working on a EP which I will link to when it's released.

Also, I still can't quit talking about how well my 'Kensington - Streets' remix is doing on SoundCloud. It has reached the download limit a few days ago, got quite some shares and likes and almost 600 plays, which is quite a lot for me, especially since I did absolutely nothing to promote it :3

Lastly, I ordered a new piece of hardware! It's a USB audio interface, the Focusrite Scarlett Solo, and it's coming in on Tuesday. My list of hardware as of now looks as follows (*=dead):

  • Shure SRH440 headphones*
  • Roland Cakewalk A500 Pro MIDI keyboard
  • Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones
  • Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface

That's all for now! Also, the podcast I'm planning to start won't be far away, so stay tuned! ;)

Comments

+1 for the Scarlett Solo and Focusrite in general. along with the A500 MIDI Keyboard, both excellent choices.

I've just hooked up my Saffire PRO 14 today and it's working flawlessly haha. I'm looking to maybe get an Alesis VI49 soon as well.

Thanks a lot man! Hehe that Saffire looks sweet, have fun with it! And I would totally buy that Alesis just for the sexy trigger pads :p

Well I was was having fun untill my Saffire PRO decided to pull the 'Im problematic' card on me and start to drop out and cause huge latency and processing spikes when operating it along with audio clipping issues for no reason whatsoever.

Just sent Focusrite a lengthy diagnostics email and I'm probably going to have to get a new unit shipped out to me under warranty. That's ruined my evening haha. Back to my shitty UA-4FX I go ;_;

Aw that sucks man, hopefully the new unit will work as it should!
